Miller speaks with Scarlet Fu on Bloomberg Television's "InBusiness." (Source: Bloomberg) Motorola, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, has found some success in rebuilding its handset business around Android, with the new Droid X selling out at Verizon Wireless last month. Photographer: Jin Lee/Bloomberg Motorola Inc., maker of the Droid smartphone, is planning to release a tablet computer based on Google Inc.’s Android software to challenge Apple Inc.’s iPad, according to two people familiar with the plan. The device will measure about 10 inches, similar in dimension to the iPad and be available in time for the holiday season, said the two people who declined to be named because the plans have not yet been announced. The device will feature television services and be marketed with Verizon Communications Inc., one of the people said. “Most of the key vendors are throwing their hat in the ring,” said Ashok Kumar, an analyst at Rodman & Renshaw Inc., who said he has heard about the Motorola tablet from suppliers in Asia. “It’s going to get crowded very quickly.” Hewlett-Packard Co., Lenovo Group Ltd. and LG Electronics Inc. have all said they are developing tablet computers. Research In Motion Ltd. plans to have a tablet computer in stores by November, two people familiar with the BlackBerry smartphone-maker’s plans said last week. Motorola, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, has found some success in rebuilding its handset business around Android, with the new Droid X selling out at Verizon Wireless last month. Co- Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Jha has said he is contemplating the introduction of mobile devices that are larger than smartphones. Motorola will “participate in that over the course of the next nine months,” Jha said in a June interview, declining to elaborate on the kind of products under development. Jennifer Erickson, a spokeswoman for Motorola, declined to comment. Verizon Ties Apple, based in Cupertino, California, said in June that it sold 3 million of its iPad tablet computers in the 80 days since they debuted in the U.S. The iPad’s success signals to rivals the appeal of a device that straddles the divide between smartphones and notebook computers. Motorola’s tablet will be tied with Verizon’s FiOS pay-TV service, the Financial Times reported without citing anyone. At least one Motorola tablet will be known as the Everest, said one person familiar with the company’s plans, who did not know if the Everest was the same model to be marketed with Verizon. Motorola and Verizon Wireless, which is jointly owned by Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group Plc, already sell the Droid and Droid X smartphones together, and Verizon Communications uses Motorola’s set-top boxes for its digital pay-television service. Teaming up with Verizon “absolutely” makes sense, said Kumar. Motorola was unchanged at $7.62 at 4:15 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading while Verizon slipped 2 cents to $29.54.

Net income climbed 54 percent to NT$3.59 billion ($113 million) from NT$2.34 billion a year earlier, Taipei-based Acer said in a statement today. Profit compares with the NT$3.5 billion average of 11 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Acer, which trails only Hewlett-Packard Co. in the notebook computer market, posted shipments in Asia-Pacific that outpaced the regional average, offsetting an erosion in the value of sales caused by a weakening euro. The release of a tablet device to rival Apple Inc.’s iPad and cooperation with Founder Technology Group Corp. in China will boost revenue as sales of low-cost netbook computers slows. “The numbers are quite good, because they managed to expand profit margins despite a weakening euro which hurt sales,” said Calvin Huang, who rates the stock “buy” at Daiwa Securities Co. in Taipei. Operating margin, or operating profit divided by sales, was 2.75 percent for the period, Huang said, compared with 2.7 percent in the prior quarter, and 2.56 percent a year earlier. “Acer declined lower margin orders in order to maintain our level of margin,” Acer said in a separate statement today, without elaborating. The euro depreciated 8.4 percent versus the Taiwan dollar in the second quarter. Sales Climb Consolidated sales climbed 26 percent to NT$150 billion, Acer said today. Operating profit climbed 36 percent to NT$4.1 billion. Non-operating profit rose from the prior quarter, Acer said without providing figures. Acer fell 1.6 percent in Taipei trading to close at NT$87.60 before the earnings announcement. The stock has dropped 8.9 percent this year, compared with a 2.6 percent decline in the benchmark Taiex index. Shipments in Asia-Pacific, excluding Japan, climbed 45 percent from a year earlier. The gain compares with the 36 percent increase estimated for the region by researcher IDC on July 20. Shipments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa climbed 20.5 percent, while the market increased 21.1 percent, IDC said. The Europe, Middle East and Africa market accounted for 50 percent of Acer sales in the first quarter, with Asia Pacific contributing 16 percent, according to company data. Acer didn’t provide a sales breakdown for the second quarter. The company will release a tablet computer with a 7-inch screen and using Google Inc.’s Android operating system by year end, Jim Wong, head of the Acer’s IT products division said in a June 18 interview. Apple will sell 12.9 million units of its iPad tablet computer this year, climbing to 36.5 million next year, according to estimates from researcher iSuppli Corp. Cooperation with Founder will help boost sales in China, Acer Chairman J.T. Wang said June 18, without elaborating. Acer doesn’t plan to buy shares in Founder, he said at the time.

Intel, which is buying McAfee Inc. for $7.68 billion, said at about 10 a.m. today that gross margin and revenue would trail estimates, releasing. Consumers in the U.S., Europe and China are curtailing computer purchases, said Mahesh Sanganeria, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets. The outlook from Intel, whose chips run more than 80 percent of the world’s PCs, adds to evidence that the U.S. economic recovery is losing steam and may presage lower forecasts from other technology providers. “Overall, you have to look at how the economy is doing,” Sanganeria said. The San Francisco-based analyst has an “outperform” rating on Intel shares, which he doesn’t own. “Everything follows that. Consumer demand in the U.S. is the weakest.” Profit Margin Gross margin, the only profitability measure Intel predicts, will be 66 percent, plus or minus a point. That compares with a prior forecast of 67 percent, plus or minus a couple of points. Gross margin is the percentage of sales remaining after deducting costs of production. Intel shares have slumped 10 percent this year on concern that growth would slow. The stock rose 19 cents, or 1.1 percent, to $18.37 in Nasdaq Stock Market trading at 4 p.m. New York time. The lower forecast highlights a divergence between consumers, who are increasingly tightening belts, and companies, which have spurred demand for computers and other technology gear. Intel said purchasing by business customers kept gross margins from declining further. “The impact of lower volume is being partially offset by slightly higher average selling prices stemming from solid enterprise demand,” the Santa Clara, California-based company said in a statement. Two of Intel’s biggest customers, Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc., have said that companies are replacing their aging PC fleets with new machines and building out data centers with servers. Corporate systems typically cost more than consumer models, helping bolster revenue. IPad Competition Sales of consumer laptops, which helped drive the rebound from recession last year, may be under threat from the success of Apple Inc.’s iPad. The Apple device doesn’t use an Intel processor. “We believe that one in four tablet sales will come at the expense of notebooks,” Ashok Kumar, an analyst at Rodman & Renshaw, said in a Bloomberg Television interview. “Apple is ramping up 3 million units a month that’s 36 million units on an annualized basis.” The company’s other expectations for the third quarter are unchanged, Intel said. It expects to provide an update to fourth-quarter and full-year forecasts when it releases third- quarter results Oct. 12.

Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs unveiled a lighter MacBook Air laptop and a version of the Macintosh operating system called Lion, adding features that make the company’s computers more like its mobile devices. New computers also will take better advantage of multitouch gestures on track pads, mimicking Apple’s mobile iOS software. The app store will open within 90 days, and Lion will be released in the summer of 2011. Apple is using the popularity of its iPhone and iPad tablet to bolster demand for its oldest product, the Macintosh. Sales of the computers rose 22 percent to $4.87 billion last quarter, making up 24 percent of revenue. More than half of Mac purchases in the company’s retail stores in the most recent period were from first-time buyers. “I don’t hear enough people talking about the halo effect,” said Colin Gillis, an analyst at BGC Partners LP in New York. He recommends buying the stock. “As more customers are being exposed to Apple products, they are spending more of their computer dollars on Apple.” ‘Hooking Up’ The new MacBook Air, which is 0.68 of an inch (less than 2 centimeters) at its thickest point, combines features of the iPad with a notebook, Jobs said. The computer’s battery lets users surf the Web wirelessly for seven hours. In standby mode, the battery can last 30 days. Like the iPad, there’s no hard- disk drive or CD-ROM, just flash memory. It weighs 2.3 to 2.9 pounds, depending on the model. “We asked ourselves, ‘What would happen if a MacBook and an iPad hooked up?’ Well, this is the result,” he said. “We think it’s the future of notebooks.” The new Air is on sale now in two versions: a 13.3-inch model costs $1,299 to $1,599, depending on the amount of memory, while the 11.6-inch product starts at $999. “They priced it really aggressively,” said Shaw Wu, a technology analyst with Kaufman Bros. LP in San Francisco. He also advises buying Apple’s shares. The new products could present problems for PC rivals such as Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc., since the Air could appeal to laptop owners seeking iPad-like simplicity, said Van Baker, an analyst at Stamford, Connecticut-based Gartner Inc. No Need to Drive The new Macintosh app store also could shake up how software is sold. Just as the iPhone version led to an explosion of new product development, the Mac store will make it easier to reach the almost 50 million Mac owners, Jobs said. “If you want to get Microsoft Word, now you don’t have drive anywhere to pick up a box,” Jobs said. “You can buy on impulse.” That approach could hurt software distributors, such as Best Buy Co., said Gartner’s Baker. “Suddenly, a lot of their Mac software business will go to Apple.” Apple sold a record 3.89 million Macs in the fiscal fourth quarter, which ended in September, a 27 percent increase from last year. The gains helped Apple nudge aside Acer Inc. to become the No. 3 U.S. PC seller in the period that ended in September, behind Hewlett-Packard and Dell, according to Framingham, Massachusetts-based IDC. The Mac is Apple’s second- best-selling product, behind the iPhone. The Mac has gained market share for 18 straight quarters, Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook said at the event. “It’s incredible momentum,” he said. Chinese Stores Apple’s retail stores had 75 million visitors in the past fiscal year, Cook said. Its Chinese stores, which opened in the past two years, are drawing the heaviest traffic, he said. The company also introduced a new version of its media software, iLife 11. The update adds features for handling video, photos and music, and is more tightly integrated with Facebook. The collection of programs includes iPhoto, which now makes it easier to e-mail photos and turn pictures into books and cards. Apple rose $1.04 to $310.53 at 4 p.m. New York time in Nasdaq Stock Market trading. The shares, up 47 percent this year, surpassed $300 last week. The stock fell 2.7 percent yesterday, a day after Apple predicted narrowing gross margins and profit that missed some analysts’ estimates, an indication that it’s making less from each iPhone and iPad it sells. Corporate Customers Apple is adding sales staff to court more business customers as the Macintosh gains popularity among corporate clients. Enterprise sales will become a larger piece of the Mac business, Cook said on an Oct. 18 conference call. Apple typically upgrades its computer line in October. At last year’s Mac event, the company introduced larger-screen versions of its iMac and updated its MacBook notebook. Apple’s last version of its operating system, called Snow Leopard, was unveiled in June 2009 and shipped two months later. The influence of smartphones and tablet computers on traditional PCs will be lasting, Sarah Rotman Epps, an analyst at Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Forrester Research Inc. “The next wave of PC design will be inspired by mobile devices,” she said in an e-mail. “New Macs give the devices the nearly instant-on, long battery life that consumers have come to expect in mobile devices.”

Just in the same way celebrity deaths always seem to come in threes, it's much the same with Apple notebooks. You wait around for ages only for them all to arrive at once. However, it now has a body cut from a single piece of aluminium. Apple has been hugely criticised for its lack of attention to recycling but this new casing, as well as the glass used in the 15-inch screen, goes some way to addressing the problem. The super glossy LED screen is eye-squintingly bright at its highest setting, and delivers fantastic quality. The screen has an impressive 1440 x 900-pixel resolution, which is surely high enough for even the most professional of needs. The glass enclosure is hugely reflective, but no more than most standard Super-TFT screens. The big change on the performance front has to be the use of NVIDIA graphics. The choice of the GeForce 9400M is great for those looking to edit video as well as play games, as it's 40 per cent faster than the previous generation of chips used in the MacBook Pro. On the entry-level model it comes with 256MB of dedicated memory, so you'll really see things fly, whereas those with the cash to flash can opt for the more expensive model and get 512MB. We're not complaining about performance, this model manages to chug along at a fair old rate. The Intel 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and there is even a 250GB hard drive fitted. A range of ports are lined along the left-hand side of the case and includes two USB ports and a Firewire 800 port. The latter is an especially useful touch, as it proves faster than current USB speeds when transferring files to and from external drives. An interesting touch is the addition of DisplayPort technology, something you won't see from other vendors for a while yet. It means you can do away with DVi, HDMI and other digital connections. If you need to connect with any of these, you'll need to fork out £20 on an adapter. The keyboard is pushed to the back of the unit, which leaves a huge hunk of space between you and the keys, so you'll be hunkered over the laptop to reach the keyboard. The keys are individually punched through the aluminium casing, which makes for a nice amount of space and also makes them firmer in their mounts. The keyboard is also fully backlit, and automatically adjusts brightness as ambient light gets brighter or darker. Die-hard Apple users may miss the old keyboard seen on previous MacBook Pro's, but we like the new choice. The touchpad also gets an overhaul and manages to hide the mouse button away as it's incorporated into the same piece of aluminium. At first it's a little tricky to get to grips with, but once you get the hang of it, it works well. Pinched from the MacBook Air are the finger gesture controls, including pinching two-fingers to zoom in and out of documents, four-fingers to gain instant access to all open windows, and rotating your fingers across the pad to spin images onscreen. The right-hand side of the chassis features the slot-loading optical drive and also a Kensington lock slot. Flaws? There are a few, the lack of Blu-ray in Apple notebooks is well documented and the placement of the mean two USB ports so close together quickly gets annoying. Does this all add up to an object of desire or is it just another run of the mill notebook? There is no denying it's a great piece of kit to look at and even touch. Performance is good but for the price tag it should be. The screen is gorgeous and while the keyboard and touchpad feel great there is some lag when typing. It does get quite warm to the touch quickly and we've not

Lenovo’s ThinkPad range has been around for years, even back during the company’s IBM heritage. Aimed primarily at business users, the X100 series is the first to include AMD processors, and the X100e offers a more affordable - netbook rivalling - price point. But does opting for a smaller notebook mean you have to compromise on performance? Or is the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e just an overpriced netbook?Laptop Cooling 热泵工程 Xintai E73i Quad Band Dual Cards with Analog TV Cell Phone Burberry cross stripe with deer motif red woven silk men's tie Egltel V300 Dual Cards Dual Band FM Arabic Keyboard Cell Phone TV Phones cosplay kanen km-880 leather cover eken m003 Low Radiation Bluetooth Headset i69 4G Quad Band Dual Cards Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone Hermes geometric printed orange silk men's tie i4GS+ Quad Band Dual Cards Wifi Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone(White) cheap phone N8+ Quad Band Dual Card With Analog TV Dual Bluetooth Unlocked Cell Phone cobalt ring reviews ZOHO W900 Dual Cards Quad Band TV Wifi Java Touch Screen Cell Phone Silver EVC 4G Quad Band Dual Cards with Wifi Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone(Black) Accessories WIFI M001 Dual Card Quad Band Dual Carema Flashlight WIFI TV JAVA Flat Touch Screen Phone Grey and Brown (2GB TF Card) tungsten ring wholesailer Games Consoles Camera Chargers Louis Vuitton men's bag 695255 X10 MID Tablet PC 7 Inch WIFI Ebook Office 1080P 2GB Camera HDMI GPS Apad D998 Quad Band Dual Cards with DVB-T Digital TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone jce5 太阳能制冷 Silver Character GA logo engraved Cufflinks Ermenegildo Zegna Grey 1 button men's suit The ThinkPad has a grey industrial design interspersed with the odd red trim. it isn’t what we’d call eye catching or sleek (and certainly a long way from the MacBook Air), but exactly what you’d expect from a laptop designed for the business user. Slim (15.6mm) and light (1.48kg), this laptop is perfect for the commute and easy to slip into a bag or flight case or a business trip. Build quality is excellent too, it really feels like a laptop that will last a decent amount of time. The isolated-style keyboard has ample space between the keys, while ample travel makes typing a breeze - in fact this is one of the best keyboards we’ve seen in a compact laptop. The trackpad is slightly recessed and a decent size and responds well. It has dual left/right mouse controls at the bottom and top. Alternatively use the tiny TrackPoint joystick control, which is more precise, but takes a bit of time to become familiar with. Running an AMD Turion NeoX2 Dual Core processor, with 3GB RAM, our well-specc'd review sample offers, better performer than most netbooks. As well as switching between multiple browsers, work documents and email, withouth sluggishness, it can even handle some HD video streaming from BBC iPlayer, thanks in part to the ATI Radeon 3200 graphics chip, although this isn't really a gaming device. Our review sample ran Windows 7 Professional edition (32bit), this costs an extra £50, or else the ThinkPad X100e comes with Window 7 Home Premium as standard. Storage starts at 120GB, but upping it to 320GB only costs an extra £13. Connections include 3x USB, a 4-in-1 card reader, two audio ports and a monitor, all alongside WiFi (b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 One of the main functions of a portable notebook is battery performance. However topping out at just over three hours DVD playback, with WiFi on, and the brightness at 50%, the battery capability is disappointing. Although Vantage Power Manager can extend this to a quoted five hours. Bright and sharp, the 11.6inch 1366x768 res screen folds almost 90-degrees back, so you can easily adjust it to get the best viewing angle. The extra screen real estate makes it easier to read spreadsheets than more compact netbooks. At £550 the notebook may be pricier than rivals, but you can save money if you're prepared to settle slightly more basic specs. Second tier battery performance aside, if you want a very usable notebook, with above average performance, the Lenovo ThinkPad x100e is worth serious consideration. If battery is your priority go for the MSI Wind U160 instead.

Since Asus sparked the ultra-portable craze, other laptop manufacturers have been queuing up to enter the fray. A few weeks ago, Dell dropped in with its own take, the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, which promises all the typical netbook light-weight and low-cost construction, but with the quality build and after sales care that has made Dell so popular. It packs the same 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU as all the rest, a respectable, if not outstanding 1GB of RAM, a choice of XP or Linux (although recent gripes about the drive partition sizes have made XP the better choice so far), and you get a choice of 8GB or 16GB SSDs. These actually have a couple of big advantages over capacious HDDs - firstly, it means the Mini 9 is whisper quiet. No scratch that - it's not quiet it doesn't make a noise at all. No grinding discs, no CPU fan, nada. Secondly, its boot time is incredibly swift. Resuming XP from standby takes about 30 seconds booting from scratch takes 1 minute 15 seconds, but you could cut that down to 60 seconds by removing some of Dell's pre-packaged programs that slow things down. Our favourite feature of the Mini 9 is the solid build quality. Some Eee PC clones can be tacky, with their fittings not sitting together perfectly. That's not the case here - the Mini 9 feels every bit like a proper Dell laptop and has a gorgeous glossy finish to match its pricier laptop ranges. Naturally, on a device this small, compromises have to be made somewhere. Unfortunately, it's the keyboard that caught the brunt of it. Most keys are fractionally smaller than on most rivals. The difference isn't vast, but every millimetre counts on a keyboard of this scale. The Caps Lock key is situated a little too close to Left Shift, so you can easily hit it by accident and instantly transform yourself into MR SHOUTY, BANE OF THE INTERNET FORUM. The Full Stop key is just pathetically small and the Right Shift nearly unreachable. The Delete key is located on the bottom row for some obscure reason. It's right next to the Left Arrow, so pretty much exactly where you don't need it when editing text. Yet, for all these whinges, we must point out that this entire review has been written on the Mini 9 and without any major drop in typing speed or succumbing to hand cramp. The mouse trackpad deserves a special mention for its quality. When we went hands on with an early version of this machine, we complained that the mouse action was too violent and made accurate pointing difficult. Dell has definitely ironed out that particular kink and it's a very usable, uncompromised pad with none of the silly repositioning of the mouse buttons that Aspire One users have to suffer. The battery life is also praise-worthy the 4-cell battery gives you a significant shot of extra juice compared to more standard 3-cell offerings and we found it lasted for around four hours of ordinary operation. Dell hasn't let the larger battery affect the weight either - the system comes in at just a fraction over 1kg, which competes well with HP's Mini-note, the MSI wind and the Asus Eee PC 901. With the keyboard as the only serious blemish on the Mini 9's record, Dell has come up with a very worthy netbook offering. It's solid, robust and good looking to boot.

You'd think we all had mini-laptop fatigue but like good gadget geek-boys and gizmo-gals, the arrival of the Samsung NC10 had us in something of a spin. OK, so in the looks department it's not going to give the ASUS S101 any sleepless nights as Samsung has taken the best bits of the MSI Wind laptop and ASUS Eee PC 1000 and produced its own take on the 10.2-inch netbook. Weighing 1.3kg, it's a portable weight and the use of solid plastic means it feels great in the hand. Sporting a matt finish and a slightly rough texture its looks are something you'll either love or loathe but we kind of like it. Battery life is an amazing five hours in standard mode, and if you're willing to tweak the settings, you'll easily get up to an extra hour. Measuring in at 260 x 170 x 30mm at its thinnest point it's far from a porker but the addition of a protruding 6-cell battery at the back does add 5mm to the overall depth. This does mess about with the centre of gravity of the device making it feel awkward when on your lap, but when on a table you'll find it raises the screen a little, making the whole thing a little more ergonomic. Design-wise the screen hinges don't feel as solid as you'll find on the ASUS Eee PC 1000, and we found there was a bit of rocking action when using the NC10 on the train. Open the lid and you'll find a stunning 10.2-inch backlit LED screen. Sure, its got the standard 1024 x 600-pixel resolution other netbooks have but even when you crank it down low, to save battery life, it'll prove usable. Cramped and awkward keyboards are par for the course for most netbooks but we've found larger models like this tend not to be so problematic. Our favourite is the MSI Wind, as it's such a pleasure to use. Samsung has managed to pack more keys into the same space, the result being such a smooth keyboard to use you'll forget it's not full size. Samsung hasn't even sacrificed the secondary keys, so you won't feel as though you're buying a compromised laptop. When it comes to specification, you'll find the NC10 is very much a netbook, packing in an Intel Atom N270 processor and 1024MB of memory and the 160GB hard drive is a welcome addition, which is partitioned into two equally sized portions. Packing Windows XP, Samsung isn't planning on offering a Linux version any time soon, so you can use it straight from the box without having to get the grips with beardy-weirdy technology. What's more, we found it loaded smoothly and quickly, booting in just 29 seconds. Performance was more than acceptable, running basic Office tasks with relative ease. You won't want to run anything too taxing on this kind of laptop but as a second machine for use out and about, or around the house, it's more than adequate for surfing the net and writing Word documents. Features are the usual, comprising of three USB ports - one on the right hand side, two on the left - VGA-out, Ethernet port, mic and headphone jacks. Natty icons down either side of the keyboard are a nice touch, so you don't need to pick the machine up to locate the USB port. Bring all these elements together and what you have is our favourite new netbook. Samsung may not have delivered anything new in terms of design or specification but what it's done is take the best of what is out there, distil it through some netbook wonder-tank and boil it down to the very essence of what a netbook should be. We've gushed long enough about the Samsung NC10, so where's the catch? The good news folks is there isn't one as Samsung has even managed to beat most of the competition on price. This cheeky monkey will only set you back £299 (inc. VAT), which in these credit crunchy times makes this something of a steal.

Since it's launch at this year's CES Sony has been keen to stress that its VAIO P-Series is definitely not a netbook but an ultraportable PC. The P stands for portable and we’re in full agreement that no recent laptop comes close to matching the P-series when it comes to mobility. Weighing in at just 625g, it’s considerably lighter and more compact than any current laptop orDola D735 Dual Band Dual Cards with FM Bluetooth Cell Phone chinese quad band dual sim watch phones TV 600 Quad Band Dual Cards Analog TV FM Touch Screen Cell Phone(Black) Coach Leather Bag 437135 android epad Mini 9700 Dual Cards Quad Band TV Java FM Cell Phone Black Versace Grey 2 buttons men's suit U5+ Dual Cards Quad Band Wifi TV Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone i94g cell phone review 1GB MP4 Players gpad g08 android 2.1 mid 8 inch Speakers ipro 9700i android 1.9 tablet 会所设计 g11 Burberry solid sky blue oxford shirt LED & Sports watches ctobay.com TV 600 Quad Band Dual Cards with Analog TV FM Touch Screen Cell Phone (White) Armani collezioni jacquard saint pattern and black stripes shirt Wifi A8 Dual Card Quad Band Java WIFI TV FM Touch Screen Sideslip Cell Phone Black And White Prada mid windows ce buy usd38.com gpad g10 android 2.1 mid 7 inch 1080p 3d games multi-touch gravi Dolce & Gabbana Black 2 buttons men's suit HuYi 007 Dual Card Quad Band FM QWERTY Keypad Cell Phone Black (2GB TF Card) Vedio Eyewears n38 dual sim E6 Quad Band Dual Cards with Analog TV FM QWERTY Keyboard Cell Phone netbook. Despite being small and light enough to fit in the back pocket of your jeans, the quality of the build is excellent. Available in pearly white, bottle green, red and black you’ll find glossy and sturdy plastics in place. At 21mm in depth, it’s also one of the thinnest laptops available and skims 9mm off the Samsung NC10. The 8-inch screen is more distinctive than the current crop of netbooks, with the widest aspect ratio we’ve seen. It features a resolution of 1600 x 768 – with images appearing considerably sharper than even the most high-end ultraportables. There’s enough space to work with a number of windows open simultaneously, although text and icons may appear too small for some users. With an integrated Intel graphics card, don’t expect outstanding 3D performance, but to be honest who would with the 8-inch screen? Power-wise the P-Series has three hours of battery life with the bog-standard battery pack, but there is also an optional additional pack which would boost the juice up to eight hours. On the subject of battery life, another nifty feature that the P-series sports is the Xross Media Bar that owners of the PlayStation and PSP will be familiar with. Skim through the icons to browse the web, use the laptop as a media player or scroll through your pics without booting up the whole laptop. Handy if you’re on the move and a bit low on battery. We were able to watch movie clips with ease on the hoof, although performance dropped off with all Aero effects turned on in Windows Vista. One of the things that will get VAIO users thanking their Sony god is the keyboard. Considering its size, it’s excellent. Using the responsive isolated keys inspired by Apple’s MacBook is quite unlike grappling with the clunky ASUS Eee PC’s keyboard. Although there isn’t as much travel as on larger laptops, the keys move with precision and offer faultless usability. There’s no touchpad though, as the ultra-widescreen layout leaves no space for a palm rest. Instead, the P-series is controlled via a pointing stick. This can be over sensitive at times and with a brush of the finger the mouse does tend to zoom across the screen. The main giveaway that the P-Series may indeed be more of a netbook than a notebook is the processing power. You won’t find a ULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor, but instead an Intel Atom chip. Running at 1.33GHz, it’s backed by 2048MB of memory, offering enough power for regular office tasks. Storage space comes from a 1.8-inch 60GB hard drive, with a 128GB solid state drive offered on the top of the range model. On first look another disappointment is the lack of ports on the P-Series. The two USB ports are in-keeping with other ultraportable VAIOs, but there’s no display-out, modem or Ethernet connection. But, clever little Sony supply the P-Series with the VAIO port that adds Ethernet and VGA to the lappies list of goodies. Another feature in keeping with the sleek feel of VAIO’s is the inbuilt 3G connectivity, just nip to your local SIM distributor purchse a 3G SIM, slot it in the back and you’re away. Other wireless connectivity are also impressive, with both 802.11n and Bluetooth in place. The VAIO P-series is a curious machine, with no real rivals. The high-resolution screen and the stunningly usable keybord will appeal to those who find netbooks slightly poky but the whooping price puts it out of anyone’s reach who’s looking for a cheap and cheerful portable notebook. If you’re looking for the ultimate in portability and have a few bankrolls in the coffer, there are few machines that can compete with the P-Series.

In June this year Toshiba celebrated 25 years of notebook production by unveiling a number of products it believed represented the shape of things to come in the mobile computing world. One of the devices was the AC100, a netbook lookey-likey powered by Nvidia’s Tegra technology and running Google’s smartphone OS - Android 2.1. Aimed atF056 Quad Band Dual Card With Java Bluetooth Unlocked Cell Phone MINI S1 Quad Band Dual Cards TV Java Pinhole Camera Cell Phone(White) hiphone 4 price Shakugan No Syana china mp3 players eken m006 android tablet MFU W71 Quad Band Dual Card With Windows Mobile 6.1 WIFI Qwerty Keypad Smart Phone+1GB TF Card WIFI N97 Dual Card Quad Band WIFI TV Java FM Touch Screen Sideslip Cell Phone Black H8 TV Quad Band Dual Cards Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone(Red) china phone free shipping WIFI G10 Quad Band Dual Cards with Wifi Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone gpad g11 battery Gucci cosmetic bag 200703S purple Portable Hard Disks Ermenegildo Zegna White 2 buttons men's suit Hugo Boss sky blue jacquard sanit pinstripes shirt Dolce & Gabbana Brown 1 button men's suit Home Theater Video H-P H108 Dual Cards Quad Band FM Bluetooth Touch Screen Mini Cell Phone Pink H9800 Quad Band Dual Cards Wifi Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone MINI Z4 Quad Band Dual Cards with Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone(Red) T1589 Quad Band Dual Card With Analog TV Java Unlocked Cell Phone JC35 Dual Sim Quad Band Wifi Analogy TV FM Touch Screen Phone Black I9++++ Quad Band Dual Cards with Wifi Java Touch Screen Cell Phone Versace chinese cloud pattern plaid blue woven silk men's tie A3100 Single Card Quad Band Windows Mobile 6.5 Wifi Dual Cameras Smart Phone Black Yi Tai E800 Quad Band Dual Cards Analog TV Java Cell Phone S9-HD Wireless Bluetooth High Definition Stereo Back-hang In-ear Headphones Headset (Black) 9650C Quad Band Dual Card Dual Camera JAVA FM WIFI TV Optical Navigation Key QWERTY Keypad Cell Phone(2GB TF Card) THUI 9650+ Quad Band Dual Cards Wifi Analog TV Java QWERTY Keyboard Cell Phone(White) those after a very portable Internet experience, we have mixed feelings about the WC100 – and feel it’s a bit of a missed opportunity. Let’s start with the good. At only 870g the AC100 isn’t a device you’re going to have any problems lugging around, while the fanless system (more on that later) has allowed Toshiba to cram the WC100’s components into a tiny chassis measuring only 21mm at its thickest. Battery life is also a selling point for the WC100, and the six hours twenty nine minutes we got of video playback is impressive. The tough, matt black plastic employed in building the chassis – with an inoffensive crosshatch pattern – makes the WC100 almost impervious to scuffs and scratches, great for a life on the road. The 10.1-inch screen features a detailed 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and is very bright and a pleasure to view photos and videos on. The AC100’s keyboard, although a little cramped, is more than usable – although there’s no delete key which a regular typist might miss. 802.11n Wi-Fi is onboard for speedy wireless networking, while a 3G module is also included. This means that, having purchased a tariff and SIM card from a network provider, you’ll be able to surf the web/browse your email away from Wi-Fi hotspots. Now the not so good. We’ve long been fans of Google’s ultra-intuitive Android OS, but it simply doesn’t make a smooth transition onto the AC100. There’s no touchscreen, and the numerous hotkeys substituting for the multigesture swipes and scrolls normally executed on a smartphone’s screen are confusing. Similarly the Toshiba tweaked interface is unattractive and clumsy, and selecting applications or links – for example – is a frustrating affair. Finally, instead of Google’s own apps Market, Camangi Market has been included. There are some decent apps available, but their quality is questionable. Nevertheless, Nvidia’s 1GHz Tegra 250 chipset provides decent processing power, and runs the operating system smoothly. Its low power also means there’s no need for a fan system and the AC100 remained impressively cool to use. The graphics card is part of the main chipset, and produces smooth video playback. While we applaud Toshiba for it's innovation with the AC100 it's hard not to see it as a bit of a missed opportunity. On paper it looks a great idea, but the hardware just makes the experence frustrating. It's also hard to see who will buy the AC100. For email, browsing and messaging you're better off investing in one of Toshiba's excellent Windows netbooks like the NB250, or if it's the Android experience you're after, maybe wait until the Toshiba Folio launches for only £30 more.

It’s hard to argue that Nokia’s E-series isn’t Espoo’s crowning achievement of recent years. The business-based blowers pack in great design, fit well with the functional but hardly fancy S60 interface and rock battery life that draws envious glances from Duracell bunnies. The E5 is the latest, an entry-level model that nonetheless crams in HSDPA, a 5 megapixel camera and Wi-Fi. If ever a phone was after theBlackBerry Curve 3G, this is it. e11 android 2.2 Kiniro no Koruda Cosplay DIY Tools dropship Dior Handbag 0849 black W009+ Dual Card Quad Band WIFI Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone Black 7 inch windows ce umpc netbook GPS AK10 Dual Cards Tri-Band Camera FM Bluetooth Touch Screen Watch Phone Black Houston Texans GPS Tracker Gucci sky blue printed pattern shirt Jintong F188 Quad Band Dual Cards FM Bluetooth Cartoon Phone e11 7 inch google android 2.2 Fly Ying F10 Mobile Phone with Dual SIM, WiFi, TV, Opera Mini, eBuddy FM E71 PRO Dual Cards Quad Band FM Bluetooth Unlocked Cell Phone Burberry grey oxford shirt 640x480 USB Pen Spy Camcorder/Web Camera with 4GB Memory/Hidden Camera Spy Hidden Camera Watch 2GB Built In Memory/Hidden Camera JX C5000+ Quad Band Dual Cards with Wifi Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone C90 Single Card Quad Band FM Bluetooth Hello Kitty Catoon Cell Phone gpad g12 buy cheap electronics from china TV N99I Tri Band Dual Card With Bluetooth Unlocked TVN99I Phone 6mm tungsten grooved wedding band VE77 Quad Band Dual Cards with FM Compass Touch Screen Watch Phone K628 Quad Band Single Card with Wifi Java Multi-touch Capacitive Touch Screen Cell Phone 9800 Dual Cards Quad Band Java FM Dual Cameras Cell Phone White Gucci letter G motif red woven silk men's tie NEW ZOHO W9000 Dual Cards Quad Band Wifi TV Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone Messaging is at the heart of the Nokia E5. Everything about its email and text skills scream class. Setting up mailboxes is a breeze, no matter what provider you’re with and there’s even support for Microsoft Exchange, which makes the E5 perfect if you want a blower to double as your work email machine. Mailbox handling is exceptional, with easy searching for old missives and straight forward switching between different accounts. It’s every bit as good as what the BlackBerry Curve 3G has to offer. The QWERTY panel is also a real winner, besting the BlackBerry competition. The keys are much softer than those on the Curve 3G, but have a pleasing heft to them when you’re tapping out texts. Like all full portrait keyboards, though, it takes some getting used too. Your hands can feel cramped, and if you prefer something more capacious, then perhaps an Android QWERTY slider, or even the Nokia E6, might be a better bet. The dedicated messaging button does come in mighty handy though. A short press takes you straight into all your mail boxes, while a longer push takes you to a new text. This feature, brought across from E-series and C-series devices, really helps the E5 stand out from its rivals. The E5 is a stunner. It has a real heft to it and towers over the ultimately average BlackBerry Curve 3G. The metal finish and slimline feel add a real touch of class, making it a blower you won’t be embarrassed to pull out down the pub. The navigation button design is textbook Nokia, and although this won’t delight all, it will please fans of the Finns’ phones. The larger form factor means these keys are much less awkward than on smaller efforts, such as those on the Nokia C5. However, S60 still remains unspectacular. The 320 x 240 pixel 3-in screen renders icons in a nasty blocky fashion and while the homescreen, with its dedicated contact tiles and easy Ovi access is great, the menu structure feels more dated than a Britpop greatest hits collection. Scooching around said menus is easy enough thanks to the nav key, but if you’re after something lush, simple and straightforward, iOS and Android provide better options. However, the E5 does manage to stand up well in the multimedia department against its key BlackBerry Curve rival at least. Video playback is poor thanks to that low res screen, but the music app is passable and much better than that on the Curve. But it’s the camera where the E5 really stands out. At 5 megapixels and with a flash to boot, it’s much better than the woeful Curve 3G’s snapper. Sling in a price tag of £199 SIM-free, some £30 cheaper than the Curve, and the E5 looks like a very smart smartphone indeed. But if we had to offer one key reason for buying the E5, it would be battery life. With 670 hours standby time and 5 and half hours 3G talk time, it’s a winner. In real terms, that translated to three solid days of browsing, mailing and music playing before we needed to power it up. That’s fantastic compared to other smarties. The E5 is not a mobile for do-it-all smartphone fanatics. But it is a great work phone, albeit one which runs a somewhat shonky operating system. If you’re weighing up getting this or a BlackBerry, we’d recommend the E5 every time.

Before the launch last week, the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines were separated by a couple of whopping features - namely, the aluminium body and faster processing power. The aluminium body provides a more luxurious user experience, and there's now no chance of the corners cracking like the plastic cases are prone to doing. The black keyboard and matching glossy screen bezel, whilst controversial, at least ensures the dirt from your hands won't be visible like on the white keyboards of the plastic beasts. And the illuminated keys? Possibly the best trick stolen from the MacBook Air. One of the disadvantages with an aluminium body - and what a pretty body it is, cut from a single piece of metal - is that it interferes slightly with Wi-Fi signals. When testing it, there were little problems with our three home Wi-Fi signals (yes, a little over the top perhaps, but essential for when BT drops out), however it could no longer connect to the pub's Wi-Fi next door, whereas our four month old black MacBook has no problem. Not a huge disadvantage to be honest, as we shouldn't be trying to steal the pub's internet anyway, but it may prove more troublesome for others. Moving on - the screen. There's no denying the LED screen is more eco-friendly than the previous TFT one, and that it conserves the battery, yada yada yada. However, it's ever so reflective, and sometimes a real pain to use under strip lighting. Guess we've got to give a little in order to save the environment, eh Apple? Still, watching movies are a treat on the 1280 x 800 pixel screen of our 13-incher, although occasionally the reflections do get in the way. It's far better than the previous MacBook's visual experience anyway, and undoubtedly the new GeForce 9400M graphics cards play a huge part here, as it's 5x faster than and noticeable it is - phwroar! Further adding to the mixed bag of emotions with the new MacBook, the trackpad has received a lot of attention due to its, err, lack of buttons. Finally Steve Jobs can wreak his revenge on those who dared criticise the Mighty Mouse's one-button format! Admittedly it takes a good full day to get the hang of not having a button to press, but after a while, you don't even notice the button is missing, as clicking the bottom half of the glass trackpad feels as responsive as the previous MacBook's button. Multi-touch functionality has been thrown into the glass trackpad mix as well, and what a treat it is. Using four fingers, you can slide down to enable the exposé screen, and sliding those four fingers from left to right brings up the various programs you've got open currently. Forget balancing your pint glass on your lower back - this is the best party trick ever, guaranteed. Battery life is never quite what any notebook manufacturer promises, and here Apple claims the MacBook will deliver five hours of wireless productivity - in theory, it was almost four hours. Considering the new LED-backlit screen is meant to enhance the battery life, it's not much better than the previous incarnation. Still, it's ever so fast. Have we mentioned the speed of the new processor yet? Because that's truly the best thing about these new MacBooks. It's made our four month old black MacBook hulk in embarrassment, and made us ever so productive when whizzing from the browser to iTunes, and over to the photo editing suite. Whilst there are a couple of flaws with this slinky silver sliver of a notebook, when are there not at least two disagreeables in a product? The fact of the matter is, with the new MacBook you're gaining quite a few added bonuses, but are relinquishing the non-reflective screen and slightly better battery life of the previous plastic cases. A fair trade off, we think.

The Libretto W105 notebook, or W100 when it finally lands here, looks like something form the future, and appropriately so – Toshiba created it to celebrate its 󈬉 years of laptop innovation.” The main attraction is the dual seven-inch capacitive touch screens. There’s no physical keyboard, and a built-in accelerometer lets you use the computer both vertically and horizontally. But is the W105 really innovative? Or is it another gimmick? The bottom screen turns into a virtual keyboard when you need it (which you do a lot) and it actually works pretty well. Both screens are fast and responsive, and haptic feedback lets you know you’ve made contact with the surface. The screens are glossy. Very glossy! They look great when you’re working inside, but once you’re out in direct sunlight it’s almost impossible to see what’s happening on the screen. How are you supposed to use a virtual keyboard if you can’t see it? That aside, our main concern with Libretto W105 is Windows 7, which simply doesn’t work very well with touch screens – especially when the resolution is high and the physical screen size is relatively small. We struggled to navigate around Windows, often clicking the wrong shortcuts and icons. Toshiba includes a smart piece of software that makes it easier to maximize and minimize programs and move them between the two screens, but it feels like a small bandage on a gaping wound. Everyday tasks turn into a real chore and using the programme just feels like too much of a hassle. Libretto W105 does have potential, but the problem is that Toshiba simply hasn’t done enough to customize Windows 7. It's screaming out for a skin or add any smartly designed software to innovate and bring a new, clever user experience. The lower screen can be used with Toshiba’s Bulletin Board, which lets you create virtual messages and to-do lists. You can manipulate the content with multi-touch commands, but again it’s just too much of a hassle to fiddle around with it. You can also access the Toshiba Board, which provides information about the computer and the pre-installed software however, this is of limited usefulness. Most of the time you simply use the second screen as a virtual keyboard. You could have a webpage on the first screen, and your email and instant messages on the second one, but then you still need to bring up the virtual keyboard when you want to type in a URL or compose a message. Doing this, you quickly realize why most laptops do have a physical keyboard – it just makes sense. Libretto W105 could work quite well for an e-book reader, but very few titles are optimized to be viewed on the dual screens and, again, you’d struggle to see it in bright sunlight. And then there’s battery life, which is, in short, very disappointing. We managed to get roughly two and a half hours of use on a full charge. That’s just not enough when a typical laptop now provides you with five to eight hours of juice, and an iPad will last a full 10 hours. It also seems that Libretto W105 struggles to keep the components working at a comfortable temperature. The fans kick in after just a few minutes, spinning at high speeds, which means, this thing isn’t exactly quiet. This review is based on a US version of the laptop, so we're not going to add our usual star rating at the moment. While we applaud the innovation, all told, the Libretto W105 is close to a usability nightmare. Windows 7 feels slightly underpowered running on the Pentium processor, the poor battery life is a crime for such a mobile product, and the constant spinning fans and super glossy screens will quickly make your blood boil. If this doesn’t turn you off, you can find this curious gadget online for about £920.

The Blackberry Bold 9780 is the latest addition to RIM’s full QWERTY Bold range and the first to include the Blackberry 6 OS, which we first saw in the Blackberry Torch. Does the new OS make a vast difference to the Bold? Or is it more of a minor tweak? The keyboard is unchanged too and although we found the keys a little close together, it’s quick and efficient for typing. We do wish there was a dedicated Full Stop key though. Memory has doubled from 256Mb to 512Mb memory, alongside a MicroSD card slot. Elsewhere there’s a 3.5mm jack, while buttons include: camera shutter, volume and voice dialling. Instead of swiping through the five homescreens (like on the Torch), swipe the trackpad to swap between: All, Frequent, Media, Download and Favourite screens. The later you can use for shortcuts and favourite contacts and you can expand the menu from a bar at the bottom to full screen. Accessed via the magnifying glass icon at the top right, Universal Search quickly searches your phone contacts, browser history and lets you click quickly through to search via YouTube, Google Local Search and Blackberry App World. The WebKit browser is pretty slick, use the trackpad to quickly scroll up and down the screen. Zoom in using the magnifying glass or via the menu using the trackpad. You can also swap between multiple browser windows via Tabs in the main menu, where usefully, your current web page is displayed underneath. There’s no Flash, so you can’t view Brandsdragon.com videos. Social Feeds is new allowing you to aggregate social networking accounts like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace with Blackberry Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo and Windows Messenger. View them in a complete list or individually. You can also view RSS feeds. Hold the Blackberry button down at any point to swap quickly between open applications. The camera’s had a boost from 3.2-megapixels to 5-megapixels choose between a selection of scene modes, including Face Detection, Portrait and Sports and single shot and continuous auto focus. First impressions of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 are promising. It’s not revolutionary, instead RIM has made a few tweaks to bring it into line to other handsets - in fact it's so similar to the Blackberry Bold 9700 (which has a Blackberry 6 update coming in the coming months) it’s certainly not a phone to break contract for. But the new interface is slick and the keyboard is excellent, so it looks to be a hit with the email and messaging user. We'll bring you a full review in the next few days.

The humble BlackBerry was a little late to the apps game, with BlackBerry App World launching last year to offer extra smartphone apps. That marketplace has grown slowly, still offering far, far less than the 200,000-plus apps of the Apple App Store. But with App World 2.0, RIM hopes to make the whole app-buying process a little easier. RIM has made a few tweaks to the UI, but not enough to satisfy: there are now only four tabs (categories, top 25 apps, search and My World) and moving between them is much faster, but the same multiple levels of clicking to simply buy an app still exist. The biggest improvement comes in the infrastructure surrounding the App World, and here RIM is finally rivalling the iPhone’s App Store. When first using App World, users are asked to create a BlackBerry ID, which is synchronised with a PayPal account or credit/debit card. From then on, users only need to type in the password to buy a new app, rather than having to log in, then log into PayPal before the download can finally begin. App updates, sadly, haven’t improved. While there’s an option to see how much internal storage you have left (which is handy) you still need to open every app manually to initiate the update, which is laborious and means most people won’t do it. We would have loved to see an ‘update all’ icon like in the iPhone App Store, or just a more user friendly interface like in the Android Market. Barcode scanning is also included here, and works pretty well - users can see a 2D barcode (QR code), the phone’s camera is fired up and the BlackBerry deciphers the code and heads to a dedicated website or app in the App World. Our BlackBerry Bold 9700 could recognise most QR codes with ease, and it will certainly make app advertising easier in the future. The new BlackBerry App World is a step in the right direction, with a cleaner interface, easier layout and reduction in the amount of steps needed to buy each application. However, the average price of the apps is still a little steep and the selection rather woeful - hopefully with the new BlackBerry 6 OS developers might feel more inclined to create on the BB platform too.

The HTC 7 Trophy is an odd sort of phone to review – compared to its Windows Phone 7 brothers and sisters it has practically no defining features, other than the same slick OS that responds stunningly under the finger, screen scrolling around to the merest flick. What it does bring is a softer hit on the wallet – you can pick one of these WP7 wonders up for just £25 a month. But does that budget tag leave it wanting in areas that the likes of the HTC HD7 and the Samsung Omnia 7 have hit with such aplomb? Monogram Multicolor 40193 ex900 review Hugo Boss Brown 2 buttons men's suit i68+ Ermenegildo Zegna floral motif navy silk men's tie 8GB Fashion Design Watch Style Spy Camera/Camcorder/Hidden Camera 16GB MP4 players dreambox 500s motherboards F8 TV Quad Band Dual Cards Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone Car DVD Player For AUDI A520 Quad Band Single Card FM Bluetooth Cartoon Phone Boots h802 review Lolita Dresses white 7 gpad china mobile phone Black Square embedded Versace logo Cufflinks Jabra BT3030 Stereo Haedset holographic laser star projector G5000 Quad Band Dual Cards Wifi Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone Audio Media Accessories Denver Broncos china phone shop Monogram Denim M95806 pink 8GB Sunglasses MP3 Player FM flying touch ii tablet pc E900 Quad Band Dual Card Dual Camera WIFI TV JAVA Full Qwerty Keypad Cell Phone (2GB TF Card) W10 Dual Camera Dual Card Quad Band FM TV Bluetooth 3.0 Inch Touch Screen Slide Cell Phone (2GB TF Card) E73+ Quad Band Dual Cards with Wifi Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone epad android 2.2 The same Windows Phone 7 interface might be present on the HTC 7 Trophy, but the 3.8-inch screen, which is more tall and thin than the likes of the iPhone 4, is in the sweet spot in our opinion in terms of portability and viewing. The chassis is a little plasticky, and for that the Trophy suffers, as it feels like it's living up to its budget moniker. But the shape of the phone, coupled with that 3.8-inch screen, means it feels really nice to hold in the hand, and the rubbery finish means it's not too likely to slip out either. There's been a pseudo-push to make the Trophy into a gaming device, as HTC has commented on it having that place in the portfolio on a number of occasions. To our eyes, there's absolutely nothing that marks it out as a gaming phone when it packs identical internals to its HTC Windows Phone 7 brethren. That's not to say that gaming isn't good - it's top notch in fact, and the combination of dedicated GPU, colourful and pin sharp screen and slick processing power make it a dream to drop into a casual game on. However, we prefer the large size of the HD7 for gaming on the Xbox Live platform, as it simply offers more space to spin your fingers around the touchscreen. HTC 7 Trophy: Media Where the HTC 7 Trophy does do well is pocketablilty, where it sits comfortably and is therefore unobtrusively great for listening to music on. It's a shame that there are no media controls on the exterior of the phone, meaning it’s hard to control the device when it's in the pocket. However, a tap on the volume key brings up some music selection options for the lock screen, so that's a definite bonus. Video seems less impressive on the Trophy for two reasons: firstly, the only way to get movies on the phone is through the Zune software from your PC, and that will require you to convert most of them for some reason, which takes an age. The second is that the screen lacks the vibrancy and contrast ratios of the Samsung Omnia 7 - it's not a terrible experience, but if you're after a Windows Phone 7 handset for watching movies, we recommend checking out Sammy's option or the bigger HTC HD7. HTC 7 Trophy: Verdict It's tricky to recommend the HTC 7 Trophy over other handsets because there's so little that marks it out. Sure, it has the HTC Hub to download apps like the Flashlight and Notes, and excellent Sound Enhancer (although this is only available through an external app, so you have to drop in and out of the music and video player to change the quality). But if you're willing to pay a little more for a Windows Phone 7 handset, then the 8GB of internal storage, slightly poorer build of chassis and lack of any real USP over the others in the range mean it might be better if you look at other options for a new Microsoft phone

The smartphone market is growing at such an incredible rate - but only at the more expensive end. Those looking to take the plunge into the world of apps and touchscreens on a budget have had very little to play with - but now that’s starting to change. Android has been chucked into low-price phones before, but these have come with a bucketful of irritating features too. But recently we’ve seen the Orange San Francisco emerge as a really decent budget Android effort, and LG is looking to go one better with the Android 2.2-toting Optimus One. It's the latestSunglasses Spy Camcorder with 4GB TF Card and MP3 Player - Spy Camera / Hidden Camera YPhone I68+ WIFI TV JAVA Quad Band Dual Sim Card Dual Camera Qwerty Keypad 3.2 Inch Touch Screen Cell Phone Black Original Price $166.99 Mini KN4 Quad Band Dual Cards TV Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone(Pink) buy iphone no 4 Iphone Accessories Mini H109 Quad Band Dual Cards with Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone(Black) Laser Accessories 1000mAh Portable Solar Power Battery Pack for Cell Phones and USB Gadgets - Black Dior Handbag 0850 purple Dyurarara Cosplay e-cigarette china Ki4 Quad Band Dual Cards with Analog TV Java Touch Screen Cell Phone Olympus Battery Replacements TV KA08(A3) Quad Band Dual Card With Analog TV Java Unlocked Cell Phone A520 Quad Band Single Card with FM Bluetooth Cartoon Phone Dolce & Gabbana white printed pattern shirt eken m008 9.7 inch android 1.9 tablet iphone accessories 4g 3 in 1 plug charger accessories wholesale Hot Phone em51 E75 Quad Band Dual Cards Dual Screen With Analog TV PSP Game Impressing Unlock Cell Phone Dior Handbag 0852 black AK09+ MINI Dual Card Quad Band Dual Camera FM JAVA Bluetooth Touch Screen Cell Phone Black (2GB TF Card) Scellphone I9+++S Dual Cards Quad Band Java FM Touch Screen Cell Phone gpad g10 driver Gucci pink jacquard saint pinstrip shirt PP510 Quad Band Dual Card With Java Bluetooth Unlocked Cell Phone Burberry Charcoal 2 buttons men's suit m002 google android Ultra Slim ATSC 4.3 inch TFT LCD Portable Digital TV handset in its Optimus range, following the excellent LG Optimus 7. For a shade under £130 you’re getting all the Google goodies that you’ll see on the Google Nexus One, so there has to be a trade off somewhere, and that’s in the build quality. The 3.2-inch screen is just about big enough in our eyes, and while the display is pretty clear and responsive the chassis feels very large, cumbersome and plasticky. It’s not terrible though, and once you dive into the phone you’ll quickly forget about that. The interface is mostly the standard Android offering, although LG has worked a little magic: customisable icons at the bottom and a few more widgets will impress the first time smartphone user. LG Optimus One review: Screen and camera The screen is only HVGA, which means when zoomed out things like pictures and the web look a little pixelated and messy - but pinch to zoom works relatively quickly and helps improve quality. The keyboard is similarly a little low-rent, especially in portrait mode we’re not using the default multi-tap 9 key default offering, and while we’re glad to see a mini-QWERTY in the options, the accuracy is poor and forces you into landscape use most of the time. Another area LG has skimped on is the camera - although most people won’t be buying the Optimus One for its snapping power. The 3MP sensor with no flash is reasonably quick to take pics, and auto focus does help improve these. The video camera is poor though - the VGA resolution is fine, it just looks like you’ve smeared beans all over the lens. LG Optimus One review: Verdict But it’s not fair to focus on the niggly points with the Optimus One - from the moment you pick it up having only forked out £130 for it, you’ll be impressed with how similar it is to the top end Android phones on the market today. And with a 1500mAh battery kicking things along, HTC should hang its head in shame, as this is a much bigger power pack than that plopped in the Desire HD, and this is under a third of the price. It laughs in the face of the resistive screens of the T-Mobile Pulse Mini and ZTE Racer, and even rivals the more-expensive HTC Wildfire for functionality. In short - don’t look at the specs when buying the LG Optimus One, as that’s not what it’s about. Instead realise that the few tradeoffs you have to make are necessary to get a cutting edge Android phone for less money than it takes to replace a cracked iPhone screen. LG looks to have got the perfect blend of price and functionality - Android is ready for the masses

HTC might have been snuggling up heavily to Google with the HTC Desire and HTC Legend, but it hasn’t forgotten the bond it has with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile OS. The HTC HD Mini is a fusion between style and substance – casting a cheeky grin at the consumer with its svelte lines and rubberised chassis, while still throwing a sly wink at the business user with its industrial-looking screws and sleek touch-sensitive front buttons. The 3.2-inch (480x320) screen fits flush to the front of the HD Mini, reaching fairly close to the edges and giving you as much space to play with as possible on a phone like this. Given the smaller dimensions of the HD Mini (measuring 104x58x12mm) it’s easy to reach all the buttons on the phone, including the on/off switch at the top which doubles as a lock key. And there’s another bonus that belies the fun side of this phone under the battery cover – a banana yellow underbelly with transparent screen to hold the SIM and microSD cards in. It’s almost too pointless for words given you’ll rarely see it – but we love it. The Windows Mobile interface has always been, shall we say ‘testing.’’ You’ve always needed a stylus and more patience than someone employing the Chuckle Brothers. In the HD2, we saw HTC using the Sense UI (developed for Android) making it work properly to mask the misgivings of WinMo, and thankfully it’s achieved that with the HD Mini as well. Sliding your finger along the tabs at the bottom will give you access to things like email, music and Twitter (and you can customise these to only show the ones you want too, which is helpful when you don’t care about stock prices). The home screen has all manner of customisation on offer – you can add three favourites to icon box which will start up pretty much any application or bookmark on the phone you frequently use. And the weather application is still there under the huge clock – it takes over the home screen when displaying the current weather in your area, such as fogging up the display or covering it with raindrops) which makes the whole interface look really slick. However, despite covering up Windows Mobile 6.5 well, there are still some issues with the interface. The transition between tabs can be a little jerky, and sometimes not even register your touch at all. And there’s still the fact WinMo is still lurking under the surface – go into the Media Player or the settings and you’ll see the horrible hard-to-press interface screaming back at you. And you can still tell it’s the poorer cousin to Android - the on-screen keyboard, which is perfectly adequate (and the best version ever offered with Windows Mobile) is miles behind its Google brethren in terms of accuracy. Underneath WiMo is still a powerful OS. We still thoroughly dislike the way it’s put together, but the fact you can synchronise push email and calendar events so easily always pleases us. Email is a doddle to set up – with this phone even Exchange accounts are easy to set up without manual synchronisation, meaning you can be out the box and receiving out of hours messages from the boss in less than a minute. The 3.2in screen is a real boon though for the OS, given that it’s the second ever device to use capacitive technology, resulting in a much more accurate experience. Multi-touch is included meaning you can pinch-and-zoom photos and the internet too, which is something we weren’t expecting from a Microsoft-powered mobile any time soon. When you turn it up to full brightness the screen looks dazzling (although that may just be the default bright colours HTC is using on the phone dazzling us. The resolution is only HVGA compared to the widescreen VGA of the HD2, but given the much dinkier proportions of the HD Mini video and web pages don’t look compacted or low-resolution – on the contrary, for the most part everything looked pin sharp, no matter what was thrown at the phone. The internet on the HTC Windows Mobile range has always been good – it was this business style of devices that led the way for full HTML capabilities on a mobile phone, and has led to the excellent browsers from the iPhone and the Palm Pre. With the HD Mini we actually see two browsers on board – the default is Opera, which whips along at a fair old pace, and the other Internet Explorer, located towards the top of the Windows Start Menu list. We prefer the default Opera effort, because HTC has spent years honing this option. Apart from Flash video (sadly) it will support most internet tools, meaning Java and Flash Lite will render correctly and give you a fuller web experience. The HD Mini also features the company’s clever text reflow – keep pinching to zoom into the screen and the text will keep resizing, no matter how close you get. Internet Explorer is a decent enough browser - it just doesn’t have the slick touches of the HTC Opera version. In terms of media. The 3.5mm slot is curved into the chassis of the phone, the cover flow selection of tracks glides under the finger (although does need a PC connection to display all the data sometimes) and sonically the HD Mini is great. Considering this is still primarily a business handset, the ability to have all this rich multimedia content is great. Video is handled by the fiddly Windows Media Player, although movies still manage to look nice once up and running. Photography on the HTC HD Mini is OK without managing anything stellar. There's a 5MP sensor with no LED flash, so instantly you’re limited in your choice of shot. There’s also no physical shutter button, meaning that you’re forced to use the on screen controls to take a snap. The touchscreen shutter button can be hard to reach comfortably, but the fact you can press on a section of the screen to focus and take a photo offers a much better solution. Colour reproduction on the phone can be a little erratic, with the HD Mini trying to over compensate for poor lighting or lack of detail by pushing another setting up a level or two too high. The battery life on the HD Mini shows off another natural facet of Windows Mobile – excellent battery life that will easily get to a couple of days, even with push email running in the background. This is much better than the HTC Desire, which struggles to last a day before giving up the ghost. Windows Mobile still lacks a decent apps store – the portal from Microsoft is woefully inadequate. Sure, there are a number of cool apps developed out there on the web, but nowadays consumers demand the ease of use brought and Windows Mobile has no answer for that. One feature we did like though was the Wi-Fi router ability – basically it will broadcast your 3G signal as a Wi-Fi hotspot, so you don’t need to tether your phone to be able to use the data on it through your laptop. As a Windows Mobile handset, it naturally supports Wi-Fi, but also Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP for stereo streaming and GPS to use when you’re lost in the middle of a crowded street with no idea which direction you should be going in. We’re not sure which category of person would buy the HTC HD Mini when Windows Phone 7 is appearing at the end of the year. It's certainly suited to any Windows Mobile user considering an upgrade. Also there are those people who though that the HTC HD2 was too big, so for them this smaller, more compact device running Windows Mobile 6.5.3 could be perfect.

When it comes to helping save Mother Earth, Sony Ericsson puts rival mobile manufacturers to shame. Its ever-growing crop of enviro-friendly GreenHeart handsets have been the only real option for the serious eco-conscious gadgeteer and its latest effort, the Cedar, is an ultra-affordable alternative to the mid range Sony Ericsson Elm candybar, runner-up in T3’s 2010 Green Gadget of the Year awards category. Granted, build quality is overly plasticky but that’s to be expected for an entry-level handset. The Cedar’s eco-creds follow previous Sony Ericsson GreenHeart handsets, giving it a unique edge over similar-priced mobiles. This means the chassis is forged from recycled plastics, the casing is coated with waterborne paints and the packaging greatly reduced in size. It also comes with a low power consumption charger and an e-manual on the handset to save on paper. Of course, the Cedar is no smartphone but its widget manager lets you quickly access tailored Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Notes and World Clock apps from the standby screen. The apps offer a decent level of functionality - in case of Facebook letting you post ‘what’s on your mind?’ and view the 15 most recent messages without leaving the homescreen – while a click through will take you to a more comprehensive version of the app. These social networking apps aren’t really geared for heavy users but perfect for just skimming activity at a glance. But if you do find yourself regularly posting missives then the angled keypad is thumb-friendly with the buttons delivering a soft but responsive action. Unfortunately, the fiddly onboard NetFront browser doesn’t lend itself to an intuitive web surfing experience, so we recommend downloading the free Opera Mini 4 straightaway. This streamlined browser is built for surfing on a small 2.2-inch low-res display like the Cedar’s, compressing full web pages for quick loading and proving incredibly efficient and nippy over both an HSDPA and 3G connection. Sadly there’s no WiFi like the Elm The fixed focus two-megapixel shutterbug is a point and shoot affair, so don’t expect to be printing your camera phone snaps. But photos are perfectly acceptable for Facebook and Twitter and you can instantly upload your pictures straight from the camera menu to your social networking sites. Video shoots in VGA-quality at 30fps and is similarly feeble, blighted with judder and blur. One criticism of the Elm was its lack of integrated 3.5mm headphone jack so we’re pleased, but a little surprised, to see one fitted on the lower cost Cedar. It’s certainly a boon and a decent pair of earbuds will boost the music player’s audio performance but with no earphones supplied you will need to fork out for your own. The music player is hugely listenable for the commute but not suited to prolonged sessions. Similarly with no bundled USB cable, transferring your digital tunes from your PC involves a microSD card via a SD card reader. Again, and unsurprising considering the phone’s £60 prepay price tag, you will need to invest in a memory card up to 16GB but then it’s just a case of dragging and dropping your music files. Battery life is impressive, cursory glances at your social networking feeds, liberal web browsing and average call and text usage means you’ll be topping up the juice every two days. The Cedar is another tidy addition to the GreenHeart range and will suit those not just looking for a traditional user-friendly 3G handset at an affordable price - it can be picked-up for £80 SIM-free, around £60 pay-as-you-go and free on a £8.50 a month Virgin Mobile – but trying to reduce their carbon footprint.
